The.yarding of sheep atr the Rangiora market yesterday consisted of"' 600 fat lambs, 245 fat ewes and wethers, and 715 stores.. The fats sold briskly, the factory buyers being ready to do business after the holidays. Full schedule rates were realised, the bulk of the lambs making from 26s to 26s 9d. The larger lots of the fat sheep also sold well up to the best ruling rates, and the smaller pens met with good competition between the butchers. The principal sales were as follows: —For C. E. The sale of store sheep was >a dragging one, and several of the lots were passed in. The'principal sales were 36 wethers at 21s, 35 at 21s, 19 ewes at 12s 9d, 147 lambs at 20s 9d, 49 at 21s 7d, and 122 at 21s 6d. Only eight head of cattle were yarded. Dairy 'cows sold at £5 5s to £7 6s, and bulls from £3 15s to £5. A yearling steer changed hands at £4, Owing to the holiday break there was an increased entry of pigs, 275 being forward. TINWALD STOCK SALE. There was a large attendance at the Tin-, wald stock' sale yesterday, when there was a yarding of 3401 sheep and 18 head of cattle. In the fat sheep pens there wore 318 ewes, 160 wethers, 2405 lambs, and 509 stores. The sale -of the fat sheep was an animated one throughout, and the tone of the market was very firm, lost week's rates being fully maintained. Keen interest was taken in the sale of the lambs. Several small lines were passed in, but the sale as a whole was very buoyant, though there was an easing off towards the close on account of the lambs offered not being of as good quality as those sold in the earlier stages. The values all round were just about equal to the latest schedule rates.
