BAN ON SHINGLE.
THE KING OBJECTS. (bt gable—?sssg association—copyright.) iKD N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received January 10th, 7.20 p.m.) LONDON, January 9. In view pf the King's decided aversion to the shingle, the "Daily Chronicle." says jt is anticipated that there may be a tightening up of the Court dress regulations,, which last yea' raised no objeotion to the shingle, but requested that the coiffure be arranged }N order not to interfere with the correct adjustments of plumes and veils. A certain slackness in this connexion may be responsible for the new regulation. _ The only shingled Royalty _is the Princess of Connaught, who invariably conceals the fact in the presence of the King.
