TEACHERS' SUMMER SCHOOL.

NOTABLES TO ATTEND. ;.[THE PBESS Special Service.] -' AUCKLAND, January 10. The teachers' annual summer school and camp commenced to-day. Already many of the 200 booked to attend have arrived and, the remainder are expected to-morrow. The Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, will officially open the school, being..• due to arrive about 10.30 a.m. to-morrow, leaving again about 12.30. Accompanying the Governor-General will be the Chief Justice, Sir Charles Skerrett, and several Cabinet Minsters. The summer school officers are: President, Mr F. Milner, C.M.G., M.A.; vice-president,,-Mr D. M. Rae, M.A.; treasurer, Mr H. G. Johnson, M.A.; sec-, retary, Mr G. H. Stubbs, M.A. A splendid lecturing staff is available this year, including Mr P. Milner, Rector of Waitaki Boys' High School, Dr. P. Buck, director of Maori hygiene, Mr R. A. Falla, 8.A., of the Auckland Training College, Mr H. Longworth, director of Physical Instruction, Dr. E. Marsden, director of the Board of Research in Science and Industry, Mr J; W. Shaw, M.A., of the Auckland Training College, Professor J. Shelley, M.A* Professor of Education at Canterbury University College, and Mr E. D. Tayler, supervisor of the School of Music.
