Ohurr/es that l".:itcJ .States oil interests, ate attempting co create war between the United States anJ Mexico were made in both Houses of the Congress to-day, when the landing of Naval fortes at Nicaragua was discussed. "Let the President go slow," shouted Senator Hetlin (Democrat), who charged American oil interests with "attempting to blip the United •States into war.''
Senator Sliipaead, a former Labour representative, declared "I would like to know where nc are going and the reason whv.' 1
Representative L'uddleston i Democrat) described as false and malicious what he claimed to be an attempt by a State Department to give the impression that Mexico fostered Bolshevism, which was sweeping over Nicaragua. After asserting that the United Staies was deliberately and consciously drifting into war -with Mexico, he said that there were interests in the United Stales, which bad for years been trying to seize the mining and oil resources of that countrv.
