PASSENGERS' NARROW ESCAPE,

Six passengers aboard an Inter-City bus had a narrow escape from serious injury yesterday, when the bus came into collision-'With a heavy meat van from the Sock burn abattoirs at the intersection of Hereford street and Stanmore road, at about eight o'clock in the morning. . The van, which was proceeding south, was about to pass over the intersection at Hereford street when the bus, proceeding west, emerged, and the two vehicles came into violent contact.

One side of the bus was badly damaged, but the van, which was protected by a heavy bumper-bar, was not damaged.
