I have before me a circular issued recently by a Jirm of importers, which throws a little light on this question. It reads as follows: To Bakers and Grocers. Urgent. Australian Flour in 1501b sacks. "We have a special price in from Melbourne this morning, quoting f.o.b. Melbourne, December-January shipments £l2 15s per ton net. Subject to confirmation. For this shipment we quote £L7 3Ss per ton c.i.f.e. duty and primage paid at the following ports: Bluff, Duuedin, Lyttelton, and several X.T. ports. All orders will havo to be wired. Price includes our buying commission. Terms are spot cash against documents. Yours, eti'.. .1. CARE. Methven. .January sth, 3927.
