MAORI WAR CONFISCATIONS. [THE PBEBB Special Berries.] WELLINGTON, January 6. The Royal Commission, which has been appointed to inquire into the native grievances' arising out of the confiscation of their lands after the Maori wars, will commence its sittings at Waitara on Wednesday, February 9th.

The commissioners are This Honour Mr Justice Sim (chairman), the Hon. Mr Reed, M.L.C., and Mr W. Coope, Native Associate, and the report of the findings must be presented to the Government not later than June 30th next.
