BIG DEFICIT.

SYDNEY, January 5
The State's revenue for the first six months of the financial year discloses a deficit of £1,369,276. Receipts wero £19,264,826, against £17,886,672 for the corresponding period of last year, and expenditure £20,634,102, against £19,001,620 in the previous year.

Treasury returns for the past six months show an excess of expenditure over revenue of £925,313, compared with a debit balance of £93,903 for the corresponding period of the previous year.
