TOUR OF CRIME.
IN STOLEN MOTOR-CAR. [THE PMSB Special Btrtct-1 WELLINGTON, January 5. ; Harold Joseph Whittle, a motor mechanic, on December 14th took a motorcar which had been left in Mercer street by one of Hatrick and Co. s salesmen and set oat for Auckland, his hometown. He reached Tokomaru the nest day and there he stole a rug worth £3 belonging to Belaud Judd, and an overcoat and an attache case and its contents of a total value of fi» lis od, the property of John Albert Wilkinson. 'His nest move was to change the number plates of the motor-ear and go further north, obtaining petrol from various people on the route. After leaving Putaruru the car went over a bank turned over three or four times, and, landed in a creek. He was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence for stealing the motor-carj and was remanded to appear at Feilding next Wednesday in connexion with a breaking and entering charge at Halcombe.
