RECORD HOLIDAY TRAFFIC.

All records in passenger traffic have been broken at tho Auckland railway station this holiday season, and had it not been for the wet weather and the disorganisation of the northern services owing to floods and Wash-outs at Christmas the figures would'haro been very considerably increased. As it is the amount of revenue received up till this morning has eclipsed last holiday reason's figuies, which were also a record, by over £4OOO. The totals given are from December /th, tho date on which excursion fares were first issued, up to the departure of the daylight Limited for Wellington this morning. During the period 15,723 excursion tickets, representing a cash value of £21,954, were issued. In addition 31.671 ordinary tickets of n (value of £17,743 were purchased by passengers. The total number of tickets was 47,394 for which the travelling public paid £311,607.
