Only eight years ago, Christchurch comprised within its area Linwooil, St. Albans, and Sydenham only, now it includes Bcckenhnm, Fisherton, North Linwood. North Richmond, Dallington, Opawa, St. Martins, Bromley, Papanui, Spreydon, and Woolstou. In sistoen years in the City area some live thousand dwellings and about eight hundred buildings have been built, which is quto. I town in itsolf, and since 190 over-a period of twenty-two years, the population has grown from 48,789 to 118,402, an increase of no less than 69,66,, a very significant total.
