"WEEKLY PRESS" ILLUSTRATIONS.

The illustrations appearing in this week's issue of the "Weekly Press" are a varied and interesting selection. A number of features of topical events during the holiday season are given. These include the Christchurch Amateur Golf Championships played at Shirley, Auckland's Christmas Bacing Carnival, winners of the ocean yacht races in the Auckland to Eussell and Tauranga contests, Australian tennis players in New Zealand, the Cunard liner Carinthia at Auckland on its world tour, Zano Grey and Captain Mitchell, who have arrived for a deep-sea fishing cruise oft the Bay of islands, and Auckland's water break, illustrating the damage by slips to the Waitakore pipe line. Some new and striking panorama picture seenes show the new concrete wharf building at Russell, the waterfront at Auckland, and Wellington from the hills above Tinakori road.

Thrilling sport among the sharks off Cape Brett is illustrated, where the 1826-27 season has just commenced and good catches have already been made. Hay-making provides a aeries of bright pictures illustrating the operations of saving heavy crops for winterfeed. The scenic attractions of the Otira Gorge is dealt with in a set of entirely new photographs depicting the grandeur of the popular resort. Some pictures of fine specimens at the Auckland Zoological Park illustrate some rare and beautiful animals and' birds. Pictures of the world-famous Waikiki beach at Honolulu and the stately avenue of Eoyal Palms are reproduced, also some of the pineapple industry in the Hawaiian Islands. Other illustrations in the issue include the new floating crane for Wellington, the Theosophical Convention at Christchurch, historic buildings at Waimate North, and items from overseas. The "Weekly Press" will be on sale to-day.
