OXFORD SPORTS.
SUCCESSFUL MEETING.
In ideal weather and with a largo attendance, the Oxford Sports Association held its annual sports at Pearson Park yesterday. Many entries were received in the cycling, running, field, and dancing events. The track
was in good condition. Two Canterbury championships were decided, the chopping and the one-mil* OJ« race. The former was won by JI L. Doody in the good time of 38 3-ssec,with C. Bro«n (39sec) second. The one-mile cycle championship was won by C. Austin. It v,.\s d good, though not a particularly fast ra... On entering the straight Austin took the lead, and won easily by a length.
