ST. ANDREWS. - Since the cessation of the rain,* the weather lias been very close and mug-n-, and as a consequence rust has appeared lit some of the crops. Odd patches have been affected with takeall, but generally speaking the crops are looking splendid. The An Mean Church held their annual picnic at Mrs Oallotly's residence recently. The weather was beautiful, and as a consequence everyone was able to spend a happy afternoon. At the conclusion of the picnic, the Rev. Mr Rankin called for three cheers for Mrs Galletlv. During the afternoon children's'races and lolly scrambles were 1 Hurt's Bush was the rendezvous of Hie Catholic community of bt. Andrews on Sunday, when, favoured by line weather, they held their annual picnic. The bush was looking at its best. . , , The St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, in conjunction with the Hunter. Southburn, and Otaio churches, which constitute the St. Andrews charge held their annual picnic at Sir It. Grav's. This year the picnic took the form of inter-Bible class sports, and football, basketball, tugsof war, and relay races were indulged in. Southburn proved to be the winners of the inter-class cup for the year, with St. Andrew's one point behind. While all were enjoying afternoon tea Mr M.acNeil took the opportunity or euls'Jising the sterling qualities of Mr MeXeur. the pastor. At the con-, elusion of the sports, the Rev. Mr McNeur presented the cup to the Southern class, and called for three cheers for the the winners. Three cheers were also given for Mr Gray, who had {riven the church the use of the grounds.
