POWERFUL RADIO PLANT. (BY CABLE—PRESS iSSOCIATIOJT—COPTBIGHT.) (AUBTBAAUN AMD Jf.Z CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, December 31. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates inspected Wellington's five kilowatt broadcasting set at the Standard Cable Works. It is the most powerful set made in England except Daventry's plant, and will be shipped for Wellington next month.
HITHERTO A SECRET. (PRESS ASSOCUTIOH TBLBGRAM.) WELLINGTON, January 3. The cabled report that Mr Coates inspected the new Wellington broadcasting plant of five kilowatts divulges what hitherto has been a carefullyguarded secret. > The authorities kept silent even when specifically urged to provide a plant over half a kilowatt. An inquirer was informed that five kilowatts is the aerial power rating, so that tho new plant will be ten times as powerful as IYA and BYA, and also more powerful than Australian stations.
