SUCCESSFUL DAY IN SOUTH

CANTERBURY. The public of South Canterbury, and a'.so a good syrinkline; oi visitors from other parts, patronised tho Pa-titi Point sports grounds yesterday, when the second day of the South Canterbury Caledonian Society's fiity-sec.icd annual sports gathering was held. A capable staff of officers, under tho direction of tho Societyls secretary, Itr H. H. Praaer, worked energetically throughout the day, with the result that al'l events were run to time end without overlapping. The meeting was singularly free from accidents of any kind. A most satijfaciory day's sport was witnessed.
