A FINE WALK.
Y.M.C.A. PARTY RETURNS. After a strenuous seven days' tramp, oiohteen members of the Y.M.C.A armod back in Christchurch yesterday from Greymouth. Under the leadership of Mr R. A. Kenner the party entrained on Christmas Eve for Greymouth and camped at Punakaiki Christmas Day and the> two followinc days they camped at the beach and explored the surrounding country, "tidying the curious rock-format on avid vfsfting the blow-hole FoUowing this camp was broken and the members divided into two parties, one under. Mr Kenner and .the other in charge of the club captain, Mr &. &• Fox's river was crossed by the first party that night, and a camp made in some disused tents. The following morning a visit of exploration up the V ;ver enabled the members to view some very fine limestone caves before they proceeded to Charleston. From 1-ere the tour concluded with a walk through the Buller Gorge to Iriangahua Junction, and back to Greymouth by Mr Kenner was most impressed with the scenery on the walk. "Milford is said to be the best walk in New Zealand," he remarked, but 1 know of no more glorious scenery than that we saw. Along the coast we had the mountains on one side, covered with native bush, and on the other, and below us, the sea. The rata was in full bloom and the mountainside splashed with colour."
