Y.M.C.A. WALKING TOUR.
A CHRISTMAS TRAMP. On Christmas Eve a party of over 40 members of the Y.M.C.A. left for Greymouth ' by train to carry out a West Coast walking tour. Mr E. A. Kenner, general secretary of the Y.M.C.A., is in charge of the party, winch will return to Christchurch today The programme was to camp for three days at. Punakaiki Beach, and commence the walk on the Monday, the party crossing Fox's river, and going through Brighton, Charleston, and Westport. Thence they were to travel through the Buller Gorge. The walk is about eighty miles altogether, and some of the best scenery in New Zealand is on the route. To-morrow a camp will commence at Kairaki Beach, and batches of young men will come and go weekly until the end of January. The facilities at the site have been considerably increased during the year, dining-rooms and place? of entertainment having been erected during the year by some of the older boys.
