NINE CANDIDATES FOR SEVEN SEATS.

Nominations for seats on the Ashley River Trust closed on Friday, and nine candidates have been nominated for the seven seats. All the present Commissioners have been nominated, and those who represent the Eangiora borough and the Ashley-Oxford sub-divisions have been elected unopposed. The nominations are as follows, the names of tho sitting members being distinguished by an asterisk: — Eangiora Sub-division. "Frederick Horrell. Eangiora County Sub-division. •William Stalker. "Leonard John Stokes. *John Waller. (Two to be elected.) Kowhai Sub-division. ■ "James Dunlop Wylie. •Robert Peach. Thomas Wylie. (Two to be elected.) Ashley-Oxford Bub-division. *Thomas Dawson. *Henry George Philpott. (Both re-elected unopposed.)
