SHEEP DIP POISONING.
• (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) BLENHEIM, December 31. George Gibson, single, aged 40, died this morning at Pohuenui, Pelorus Sound, from the effects of sheep-dip poison. No details are available.
A big brown Russian bear killed an 18-inonths-old female of the species at the Auckland Zoo on Thursday, says ,a Press Association message from Auckland. Apparently tho animal resented the food offers by a crowd to the younger animal. Bruin attacked his companion' with such ferocity that she eventually succumbed.
