In the course of a literary law-ease in London recently, counsel remarked that "even the greatest writers sometimes gave off work that was not of their best," and attributed to Tennyson the lines:— Mi little room, no room «o bright. Wherein to read, whVein to writ*. The '^Observer' 1 thinks that there must be much worse than that among tho corpus of classic poetry, and offered a prize of three guineas for the worst line to be found in an English poet of established reputation, (fhe prize line has not yet reached us.)
