. 1 , Personal. Amongst the people visiting Heathcote for (he holidays are Mr and Mrs W. Kvans (Wellington), Mr and Mrs A. Trvinc (Wellington), and Mr S. Wyman (Wellington). Mr and Mrs M. McDowell left by the Terry sleamer last evening for a holiday in Wellington. Camping Parties. Eight members of the Rifle Club left on Christmas Day for a camp on the shores of Lake Brunner. The boys of the Methodist Club returned on Wednesday night from a three days' camp at Hill's Bush,- Mt. Grey. Orchard losses. Loss has been experienced in some of (he local orchards as a result of the wet weather. Plums and cherries which were almost ripe were badly split. Within a week or two peaches will bo ripe. These look very well.
