MEETING OF EXECUTIVE.

POPPY DAY REPORT. The first meeting of the new executive of the Eeturned Soldiers' Association was held on Monday evening. Mr H. J. Knight presided. A deputation was received from tho limbless soldiers in regard to certain questions concerning artificial limbs. After the deputation had retired, it was decided to advise them to give full particulars to the Association's delegates to the Dominion Conference, where the questions would be fully discussed. With regard to Poppy Day, it was reported that, so far, £729 had been paid in, and there were still some country returns to come. The effort was considered a great success. As the Association now had money from the fund at its disposal, it was decided to allot some for relief work among unemployed returned soldiers, and to communicate with the various local bodies with regard to application forms. The annual Dominion Conference will be held in Wellington on June 3rd, and Messrs H. J. Knight and G. W. Lloyd were appointed the Association's delegates. A special meeting will be held on Monday evening to discuss business for the conference. It was reported that the Saturday nightj dances were very successful, and that the executive appreciated the efforts of the Dance Committee. The following committees "were appointed:—House and Finance: Messrs H. JT. Knight, G. A. Hayden, E. A. Cuthbert, E. Orchard, W. E. Leadley, W. McCoy", and Colonel H. Stewart. Dance: Messrs H. Flake, G. W. Lloyd, G. A. Hayden, G. Dabourn, E. W. Smith, G. Hoffman, and 8. A. Thomas. Billiards: Messrs J. Forrest, H. Johnston, C. Chisnall, N. Marton, W. McCoy, and M. Turnbull. Entertainment: Messrs G. Dabourn, G. Forrest, E. W. Smith, W. E. Leadley, W. McCoy, and G. W. Lloyd. Benevolent: Messrs H. J. Knight, G. A. Hayden, and H. Flake. Representatives of executive on Rifle Association, H. Flake and J, Forrest.
