BRACKENFIELD HUNT.

Hounds mat at Ruddiford, Oxford, on May Ist. Th© morning was rather cold, but nevertheless a good muster enjoyed the day's sport. Hounds were caßt out at the back of the Buddiford homestead, where a hare was soon viewed, and the huntsman soon had tiie hounds in full cry. They led the field at a good pace, passing through the properties of Messrs K. Wotherspoon, J. Clark, W. Gilchrist, and G. Cross. The hare was eventually lost fn a paddock of turnips on Mr Early's property. At this stage hounds and followers adjourned to Eyredale, where Mr and Mrs McKee entertained them to luncheon.

After luncheon hounds were cast, out in a paddock in front of Eyredale, where a haro was soon sighted, and away the field went, crossing on to Mr Wright's property, then over the road on to Mr Ford's property, then circled back on to Eyredale, right round the homestead, back on to Mr Wright's property; ovor tho road again on to Mr Ford's, where she was eventually pulled down. This was a great run, The distance covered was at least four miles, taking in the best of the Oxford hunting ground. The main feature of tie chaae was the excellent horsemanship of the huntsman, and the skilled manner in which he worked his hounds. At this stage hounds were drawn for the day. Bitmead on Miracle, Dixon Wotherspoon on Silver Coin, A. Beere on Toby, G. Bitmead on Wildfire, Reg. Wells on Swift, A. Priest on Speedy, J. Bitmead on Ginger, C. Gilchrist on Peter, O. Ball on Arabelle, A. McKee, C. Manson on Jack, N. Dodd on Topsy, R. Wotherspoon on Fosk, R. P. Meyers on Billy, the -Misses Blunden on Tripey, Nv Henderson on Master Jack, S. Bassett on Creamy. Driving were:—Mr, Mrs, and Miss Bitmead, D. Budge, F. Meyer, and R. Adair, G. and F. Meyer. Motoring were:— Mr Burgin and Miss Horrell, Mr and Mrs C. Bassett, Mr and Mrs H.
