AUCKLAND, May 12.

The Newmarket fire engine fatality on March 19th, when Elizabeth Jane Power, aged 60, was killod through being knocked down by the engine, was recalled at the Police Court to-day. Daniel Richard Francis Glennon, tho driver of the engine, was charged with negligently driving a fire engine in Broadway, Newmarket, thereby' causing the death of Elizabeth Power. f The inquest was taken in conjunction with the prosecution. . A number of witnesses gave evidence as to the speed of the engine and the circumstances of the accident. Accused was committed for trial, bail being allowed in £IOO.
