THEATRE ROYAL.
"THE FARMER'S WIFE."
To-night and tomorrow night "The Farmer's Wife," that play of Devonshire, will be presented at the Theatre Boyal. Delightfull humorous, it is one- of the best plays from the pen of Eden Pbillpotts. The dominant note of all his writings :s an allembracing humanism, the big heart that can see life steadily with all its absurdities and errors, and yet never adopt an easy, cynical attitude, but understand and leve everything that is hunnn. For this reason the appeal of -The Farmer's Wife" :s universal, and this will '.>e shown by its continued success. As Samuel Sweet land, the Devon farmer, Mr Townsend Whitling achieves a triumph, and gives his audience utiaVoyed delight. Miss Susan Richmond taies the role of Tbirza Ta.pper, an attenuated spinster, and plays her part with eclat.
