ELLESMERE GUN CLUB.
FIRST SHOOT OP SEASON. In Mr G. Nairn's paddock at Lakeside, the Ellesmere Gun Club held the first shoot of its 1926 season, in fine weather. The attendance was good, and the shooting on tnc whole very creditable for an opening day. The first shoot was a six-bird clay sweep, which drew 20 competitors. The following broke all their days and divided the money: S. Vince, D. S. Curry, W. R. Donald, E. Wasiibourne, R. L. Donald, and F. Graham. A 12-bird clay sweep drew 18 competitors. H. T. Stevens and J. Winchester, who both scored the. possible, the former breaking all bis clays with the first barrel, divided the first and second money. A. N. Turner, G. Nairn, E. Washbourne, W. Patterson, and F. Graham broke 11 each. A match of nine birds was shot between two teams of eleven men, as follows:—No-. 1 team: E. Jamieson, E. Washbourne, W. Pattet&on, H.« T. Stevens, S. M. Jackman, S. Vince, D. S. Curry, R. L. Donald, R. Lochbead, W. Bohan, and A. N. Turner. No 3 team: J. Winchester, W. R. Donald, G. Nairn, D. H. Heid, W. Gilbert, R. Donald, J. T. Parkin, L. C. Lemon, J. Vinw, D. L. McGregor, and F. Graham. At the end of the first round, No. 2 team led by one point, and at the end of the second round the order was reversed, the margin being still only one point. The somes were even! 69 each side, when the last two men, Turner and Graham, fired their final three shots Both broke their ihre<» clays, making the match a tie. in the shoot-off to decide the winners, No. 1 team scored 10 snd No. 1 team 8, the former winning the matoh by 88 to 80.
