TRAGIC FALL.

MR T. R. RONAYNE KILLED.
(rax«s association txlxqbjm.) WESTPOBT, September 7. A shocking accident happened at noon to-day at Seddonville, 25 miles from Westport, in which Mr T. K. Eonayne, formerly General Manager, New Zealand Railways, lost his life. In company with other directors, he was going to inspect the Glydevalc mine. They decided to travel by the aerial tramway tnbs. When about halfway across it began to rain very heavily, and Mr Bonaync attempted to cover his head with a sack. Mr Quinn,the mine manager, called out to him to desist, but apparently he was not heard. The sack apparently caught the pin which releasee the tub, causing it to tip, and Mr Ronayno was thrown out, and fell 25ft, landing on his head and fracturing his skull. He was dead when picked up. An inquest was held at Seddonville when the following verdict was returned: That deceased died on September 7th at Seddonville, deceased having accidentally released a bucket in which he was riding on the aerial tramway, and was precipitated to the ground, fracturing his Bkull.
