LADIES' HOCKEY.
MATCH AGAINST SOUTHLAND. The Canterbury ladies' hockey te»m will meet the Southland team on Wednesday at the Ensor's road ground at 2 p.m.' The Southland team are on thoir way home from the New Zealand hockey tournament, where they succeeded in retaining the championship shield, and they should be capable of extending the local girls. Messrs Throp nnd Graham have been appointed referees for the match. Miss K. Tilleyshort has been elected captain for the Canterbury team. The ladles' six-a-sido tournament, which was set down for Saturday next, has been abandoned.
