SPANISH ADMISSIONS. "APPRECIABLE LOSSES.** (BY CABLE—POTSS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.) (rOST&AXIArr AWD N.Z. CAB LB ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, September 4. Reports from Tangier state that the Iliffis have launched a heavy attack against the Spanish western front. A Madrid official message admits that enemy pressure is at its strongest evidently with the idea of hampering the offensive. Additional troops have been dispatched to the points affected and the enemy has -been thrown back. The communique adds: "The Spanish losses though appreciable, are not numerous considering the severity of the fighting and the brilliant re-sulte attained."
SHELLED BY WARSHIPS.
OFFENSIVE NOT COMPLETED. (ArrSTBAXIAV AKD 2SI.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received September 6th, 11.5 p.m.) PARIS, September 5. Advices from Fez state that tho Franco-Spanish squadrons and air forces have been bombarding Alhucemas for the last three days, but there is nothing to indicate that a landing has been effected.
Thero has been no action on the French northern front', indicating that the beginning of the Franco-Spanish offensive has yet to be made.
