McLeod, has very definite views regarding the urgings of those who contend that the State should buy up land with a v,ew to cutting it up lor closer settlement. "If we think the present prices are going to increase," he said, in a speech at Hawera to night, "it would be safe to go on; but if not, it would be extremely dangerous We might have the returned soldiers' problem over again with civilians."
