Thomaason has resigned from the position of art master at the Christehurch Technical College. Mr C. Savage has been appointed relieving art master. Mr Irvine Elston, who has taken over the management of the Stella Murray recital tour, is in Christehurch making arrangements for the local performances. Mr H. J. Otley, chairman of the Hospital Board, who has been on a three months' health _ trip to Australia, returned to Chris tcnurch yesterday restored to health. Mr Stuart F. Doyle, managing director of Union Theatres, Ltd., director of Australasian Films, Ltd., director of the Greater J. D. Williams Amusement Co., Ltd., also director of and associated with many other commercial undertakings, has joined the head office board of the Insurance Office of Australia, Ltd, (the "1.0.A."), Sydney. Mr W. 'Hutchens, conductor of the Wanganui Orchestral Society, attived from the north yesterday morping to take part in the jubilee services of the Leeston Wesleyan Church to-morrow. The late Mr B. L. Hutchens, wHo for many years was the choirmaster of the church, was the father of Mr WillJHutchens, also of Mr Frank Hutchena, the well-known New Zealand pianist, now Professor at the Sydney (N.S.W.) Oonaervatorium of Music.
