the museum site. In 1923 the Ohristohurch Domains Board approved the granting of a site behind the Museum for the erection of an Art Gallery. Yesterday the Board again approved the proposal and authorised the chairman (Mr Harper) to supervise the wording of a. clause in the Washing-Up BiU of the present' session of Parliament giving effect to such decision. A communication was received from the Town Clerk copy _ofaletter received by the Gity . +SL tho Prime Minister stating that the Board would be empowered to grant the site if it chose to do so. i The chairman explained that tlua Board had already approved the proposal, and it would be necessary to pass a motion formally confirming the extract from the minutes of the Board a meeting on August 3rd, 1923, dealing with the matter. j Mr McGregor "Wright moved tn&ti the extract be confirmed. He said they should helD the cause on to tlie best of their ability. The Art Society would give considerable assistance to the proposal: The motion was seconded by Mr S. A. Orchard and carried, the chairman being empowered to supervise the necessary legislation to protect the Board's interests.
