Becretary of the Sumner Branch of the Plunket Society, has received word from the Misses Mnlvany Gray that at their entertainment next Friday evening they will stage '"Night of the AA ar ' s*iort plnv bv the celebrated English writer, John Drinkwater. The cast includes Greeks and Trojans, and the ptogramme is expected to be a very attractive one. High Tide. A very high tide was running well up the heaeh Yesterday, and it presented a grand sight-to many on the sandhills who assembled to watch it. At Clifton large breakers were dashing agaiiwt the Esplanade wall, sending showers of spray high into the air and falling right across the road. lhe breakwater at Bell's Baths received the full force of the waves. Richmond Hill Road. The wet weather has considerably prevented the putting in order of tho upper po-tion of the road Richmond Hill, and it is unlikely that cars will be able to proceed to the top before the end of the golfing season. Several loads of metal have been delivered, but the recent deluge has prevented it from being spread. School Buildings. The portable . school buildings have now been erected, and they prove to be airy, well lighted, and comfortable. Thev are being painted, and should be available for use at the end of next week, relieving the congestion"in tho school, and- doing away with the necessity of holding a class in the parish j room. • | All Saints' Church. The Boys' BiMe Class held, a rally in the parish room recently, and invited the Junior Girls' Bible Class. A very pleasant was spent, under the direction of the vicar and Mrs Powell.
