LICENSED TRADE.
CHRISTCHURCH COMMITTEE MEETS. The Licensing Committee of the district of Christchurch held its quarterly meeting yesterday when, there were present:—Mr H. Y. Widdowson, S.M. (chairman) and Messrs K. Matheson, W. E. Simes, H. Holland, H. H. Wauchop, and E. M. Speirs. The chairman said that the police report" showed that the hotels in the district had been satisfactorily, or fairly satisfactorily, conducted during the past quarter. The following transfers were granted : Crown Hotel, trustees of the estate of the late' P. Byrne to John Svreeney; City Hotel, Joseph Selway to "Walter James Blake.
