A number of societies who are anxious to preserve "Waterloo Bridge, including the.Royal Academy Institute of British Architects, have sent the London County Council a report by a group of engineers, under Sir Wilfred Stokes, 'strongly advocating tho underwriting and repairing of the bridge in preference to tho Council Committee s decision to replace it by a new structure:
