ADOPTED BY THE CHAMBER.
GOVERNMENT SUFFER MINOR REVERSES. ;bt cable— press associatiox—corraiGHT.) (BSUTZa's TELEGHAMS.) PARIS, July 3. The Chamber of Deputies has adopted the Budget, which fixes the expenditure for 1925 at 33,163,000,000 francs. The revenue will be 33,173,000,000. M. Caillaux, Minister of Finance, suffered two minor reverses during the debate, first by the Chamber rejecting a tax on the turnover of foodstuffs and other retail commodities, and recommending as a substitution a tax on sugar, cocoa, coffee, tea, rice, coal, and meat.' His second reverse was the fixing of tho cost to foreigners of identity tickets at 200 francs, compared with the proposal of 14 francs. The debate lasted all night, and was sometimes heated, especially tho discussion on the Cabinet proposal that tho Government should share in the gross receipts of certain financial corporation?, which was adopted.
