DOG TRIALS.
ASHBURTON CLUB. The Afliburton Collie Dog Club's third annual trials were concluded on Saturday in line but cloudy weather. The nidging was carxicd cut by Mr 11. T. Little of "Woodgrovc, to the satisfaction of all concerned. The cups in classes 1 and 3, heading and bringing back and holding in ring and heading, pulling to ring, drive and yard, which were won by S. ij. Barclay's Chappie and C. Stringfcilow's King respective:}', weie picscnted to tho cwners by Mr Litt.o on iSatutchy morning. • Tho prize-money attracted large cut no? in each class, bui. the 'weather prevented many from attending. Saturday was taken up with the competition for Ir-cul dogs, there being 17 entries in tho event. Itcsuiis: CLASS 4—Local Dog?. • District limit to be from llakai.ii to Kangitiita- rivers. After getting through e.lie got badly off the line to the pen, and on going twice round eho split the sheep rn two occasions. Brss over-ran too much, but she did her lob faster than any other dog during the meet ire, her time being 3min l'2see.
