ELLESMERE SEAT.
MR F. COOP WITHDRAWS. Advice has been received by the Canterbury branch of the Reform Party that Mr F. Coop has decided to withdraw his candidature in connexion with the contest for the EHesmere seat at the General Election. The conference of the party, which is to be held in Christchurch next, week, will now have to decide between Mr David Jones and Mr W. H. Montgomery in selecting tho Party's candidate for the seat. Mew Branches Formed. Strong branches of the Eeform League were formed at Grcenpark and Tai Tapu last evening. Chairmen, secretaries, and committees were elected in each case and delegates were appointed to represent the districts at the conference of tho Central Executive to bo held in Christchurch noxt week. At a meeting of Reform supporters, held at Hororata yesterday, Messrs L. G. D. Acland, H. Oliver, and J. Hc*keridge were appointed to attend tlv.) Reform conference iu Christchurch ou Wednesday.
Supporters of the Reform Party in tho districts of Rakaia, Doric, and Rokcby will hold a meeting ih tho Road Board Office, Rakaia, at 7.30 p.m. on Monday.
