In passing sentence, the Chief Justice said it was a wanton, cold-blooded murder. ' [ Mary Smith and Alice Quick, mother and daughter, were attacked whih asleep in a tenement building. Both received bullet wounds, aaid Mrs Smith died soon after admission to hospital. Aves was said tq. be a rcjocted lover of Alice Quick.]
