From yesterday the Post Office at PaJmerston North ranks as a Chief Post Office. No drastic alteration is involved by the change, but country people will be able to send Savings Bank withdrawal slips through Palmerston North" instead of other chief offices. The district covered by the new chief office extends from Manakau in the south to Bulls and Greatford in the north, and to Akitiq in the oast. It also includes Dannevirke in the north-east.
