. p MARTON MEETING. (press association telegeam.) MARTON, July 1. Members of gun clubs met here yesterday in the £IOO Marton Club Clay Bird Open Handicap. Eight .-were'left'in-the final and divided'(lie money. Jn the shoot-off for the trophy Quartermnin (Taihape) and .Duncan Fraser. (Palmerston. North) tied and tossed, the former.winning. To-day the New Zealand Clay Bird Championship of £lls was held. The weather was dull in the morning, but brighter in the nfternoon. There we're 71 entries, constituting a record. H. Nitz, A. McGregor (Masterton), A. Simmons (Whnkatane), S. Glermie (Poverty Bay), and Murray Pratt (Otorohanga) each shot the possible (21) and divided the stake. In the shoot-off for the gold medal and championship, Nitz shot ten birds, all with the first barrel. Pratt nine, Glennie six, aud Simmons five. McGregor missed his first shot..
