REPLY TO MR C. M. LURE'S REPRESENTATIONS. (PHESS ASSOCIATION TELEGKAIIJWELLINGTON, June 30. The Press cuble message, reporting representations apparently being made to Admiral Coontz by Mr C. M. Luke, at Honolulu, regarding the subject of drinking among the men of the American fleet when visiting; New Zealand, was brought under the notice of a meeting of the Dominion executive of the New Zealand Licensing Reform Association, when it was decided to send tho following cablegram to Admiral Coontz, signed by.tho president, Archdeacon H. \A'. Williams:— "The Nov Zealand Licensing Reform Association desires to convey to tho Admiral, the fact that Mr C. M. Luke, reported by cuble to have discussed with him the 'question of drinking among the men oi the fleet, does not; represent either the Government or thfc people of New Zealand, las only status on this question being as a member of tho committee of the Prohibition Party, who. we regret, are using tho welcome visit of the fleet for propaganda purposes in connexion with tho referendum vote on Prohibition, to be held this year.
