LANCASHIRE SOCIETY.
A meeting of members of the Lancashire .Society was held in the Navy League Hall last night,. Mr J. O. Jameson presiding over a large attendance. ~ A discussion took placo on tho 4«?™° of holding a children's - party and Octobei Brd was fixed as the date for this f""* 0 ?; The following committee was set *°. ta *f charge, of the arrangements :_Miw P? la ™' Mesdames Pedler, Pickering, Clegg, Evans, Comfort, Phillips, Nicholson, and Cheetham, with power to add. ~ Mr J. Ryland gave an address on me subject of community buying of tea, sugai, coal, potatoes, ete., illustrating lus remarks by references to a co-operative society formed in Bochdale, Manchester. Orders, he aaid, wero pooled, and one man was entrusted with the buying of the goods required. ' . _ It was decided to hold gatherings tor members only on Tuesday nights. A programme for the second half-year, consisting of weekly dances and social gatherings, was arranged/and at the conclusion ot the formal business community singing and dancing took place.
