• ♦ ■ MAGISTERIAL. • TUESDAY. (Before Mr Wyvorn Wilson, S.M.) . .DRUNKENNESS. A labourer was convicted and fined ss, in default 24 hours' imprisonment, on a charge of drunkenness. Another labourer, who was similarly charged for the second time, was convicted and fined 10s, in default 48 -hours' imprisonment. MAINTENANCE. Sentence of two months* imprisonment in the Wellington prison was passed on John Musson, for disobedience of a main(enance order. His Worship- ordered that Musson be released on the payment of £H 2s 6d. . . "Convicted and sentenced to imprisonment with hard labour for one month in the Paparoa prison, to he released on payment of £20," said his "Worship after hearingtrie evidence in the-case in which John Boyd .Rutherford -was charged with disobedience of a maintenance order. For disobedience of a maintenance order, John Alfred Jansen was convicted and sentenced to 28 days" imprisonment in the Wanganui prison, the issue of tho warrant to be suspended- so long as he pays 10s off the arrears and 'keeps up Ue current payments. On a similar charge Edward McCann was convicted and sentenced to two months imprisonment in the Paparua prison, the issue of the warrant to be suspended provided ho pays off the ..arrears at the rate of 2s a week, in addition to the payments due under the. order. . . , ... , Donald Sinclair was convicted and sentenced fo one month's imprisonment, in the Nelson prison for disooedience of a maintenance order. It was ordered that he should be released on the payment of ±l6 12 On tho ground that .ill-health.had. reduced' his financial circumstances, Alfred; Arthur Jackson applied for the of_ a maintenance order made against him.
