FRANCO-GERMAN COMBINE. j IRON AND STEEL CONTROL. (bt cable— ASSOCIATION—COrrEIGHT.) (ACSTEALIAX AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, June 23. The Berlin correspondent of the. "Daily Telegraph."' says thai after many months' negotiation, an agreement lias been reached for the formation of a Franco-German iron and steel trust. Thoso interested may deny the statemc-nt, but the correspondent has received it from an unquestionable authority. Franco receives the. right to send Germany annually 1.7.30,000 tons of iron oro from Alsace-Lorraine, the Sarre, raid Luxemburg. The German and French industries will retain control of their own home markets, but will form a joint syndicate for foreign operations, orders from which will be divided proportionately between Franco and Germany. A separate syndicate is being formed to control output and provide longterm contracts for delivery. The French are to import German and Ruhr coal to France. The agreement opens up the prospect of comprehensive Franco-German industrial co-operation, the political consequences of which will bo most important.
