During the paying over of the stake money in the Goodeell-Hannan match, ' the lattor reiterated that the best sculler won on the day. If he (Hannan) could not get a race with Durhan, the Canadian, he would retire.
j'he New South 'Wales Committee of Sportsmen then asked Ha anan if he would accept a race with Saul fcr £2OO a side, the winner to row Goodsell.
This match has been made possible, as Saul has not de&nitAlv challenged Goodsell.
