Mil JOHN BERRY.

News was received in Cbristchntch yesterday of the death, at Moufit Eden, Auckland, on Thursday night, of Mr John Berry, a one-time wellknown Christchureh business man. Until about three years' ago, when J» went to live at Auckland, Mr. Berry had been in business' as a chemist - close upon forty years in this city. For a Jong time he was in the employ of Wallace and Company, Chemists, who at that time had "a shop in the High street triangle, near the premises now occupied l»v Messrs Halfeustein Brothers. Later, Mr Berry vent into business am' his own account m a shop in Colombo street, opposite-. Messrs E. Recce and Son, and ont to Mr B. Parnhara. 3lr Berry is survived' by his wife, who is a sister of Mr Win. Coss, of. this city. •
