CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION
The committee of: the Canterbury Cricket .Asscciation met last night. Present—Mcssr3 D. Kecsc, president (chairman), R. C. Blunt, W. L. King, a. B. AVard, K. A. Gasson, A. 11. Henderson, W: Sirrii>son, W. It.'■ Patrick, M. O. Sinclair, K. H. .North, 1). V. Smith, hi Weston, K. E. Luttrcll secretary;.' - The treasurer reported "that approximately v i92CO was -to come -to the Association as profits, from the bis art union'. The sum of £SOOO was available almost immediately. Tho. treasurer was authorised.to deposit the .money with the» trustees. ~ ■ . It" was decided' that a- committoo bo appointed ,to draw up rules and [regulations I tor trustees regarding tho fundi. MessrsWinaor, Cu'ygill" and Ward" wto appointed a committee. Mr Simpson moved with regard to the . Hagley Park fund that 20 per cent, of the iOUO 1 ) should be .put. aside Jor the Hagley Park fund. Ho said the Association was "morally bound to consider the Hagley Park fund. The park was a valuable asset to cricket in the Cant re and; the .groftnd should be hept in good order; and condition. He moved that £l'>C6 'of 'thd'-.inoney ejiould be invested' in trust : 'securities to •be nominated by-the Association); and' that only the interest should bo .lifted.. . Mr King seconded the motion. ilr Patrick moved an amendment that 20 per cent, of £SOOO sh'-mld. be given to. tho Hagicy Park fund, and the balauco should be oonhollpd by the Canterbury Association, to -make grants when necessary. The p.meiidmcrrt was lost' and the motion carried. High School Old.Boys and Old Collegians' Clubs asking for affiliation. ilr Kirg moved,that a Relegates' meeting should be called for July 14th to discuss the question of affiliation and that the..two "clubs bo csked to writo stating, ia .which grado they wished to play. Tho motion carried. An application '" was received from the Tthniiora, Club asking for affiliation and weriiiis«ion to enter a- team, in ' the Beniou B grade. > . The matter was referred to the general meeting of delegates on Ju!j- 14th. The treasurer' reported that the profits' from ilio Auckland match were £l3l (V sd; from t'ie Wellington ina-tch £155 19s-Id, h"<l from tha Victorian match £E-2 123 6d with a refund of £27'. ss. 2d lo come, the total, profits tour had cost £'S2 10s sd. An anonymous refund of £2 2s was received from an umpire. Donations were received from Mr K.-Boultou (£5) and Mr -W. L. King i£i 2sK These donations were placed in the foundation fund. The liinwood Club applied for consent to change their club colours to green and black. The application was granted.
