Cobweb Social. A novelty evening in the form of a ' 'cobweb social" which was held in the Methodise Sunday School foom •on Thursday, proved very enjoyable' and' interesting. A little lower than the-ceiling was a representation of a giant cobweb made. ..up, of , strings, to the ends of which were attached various parcels. After the programme the spider, Mr Vi.. Huston, cut the strings ' of his web -and disposed of the parcels.. The programme consisted-of igames and items as follows.-—-Pianoforte solo, Mrs H. Loney; song, Miss A. Oetgen; quartette, choir party; glees, choir; Miss D. Westbrooke and Mrs Ndßon acted as■ accompanists. ; Supper.was served by the ladies.' Telephone '• Sl6t.'V: ' The telephone' slot has ■ been re-erectey: at the railway corner, but .this time nearer the railway fence, where it will'be sheltered from the sou'-west gales. •■•""'■ School Football. ' A-team 'from the- -Lyttelton Borough School defeated the local school by 7 points to 3. ':'•'■• •' • .
